How to increase the chances of buying a well-fitting pair of ski goggles?

Your skiing vacation is planned and you have started looking for the gear you still need. Your entire outfit is complete but you're still missing one thing. A pair of sparkling ski goggles is of course a must have as good visibility is super important when going down the slopes.

As we are all individuals, it is reasonable that each one of us has a different headshape. Sometimes it can be quite difficult to find a suitable pair of goggles that perfectly fit your own headshape. Fortunately, we have good news and everyone can find a fitting pair! In our shop there is no distinction between ski goggles for women and ski goggles for men. However, as well we all wear a helmet when skiing, there are some things that you need to take into account when choosing a pair of goggles:

Tips and tricks

  • Make sure your goggles fit your helmet when you are wearing them. It is uncomfortable if there is a gap between your goggles and your helmet. Your forehead can then get very cold when skiing in the snow and/or wind.
  • The better the foam layer on the goggles the more likely it is that your goggles will fit comfortably. For example, there are goggles where there is a double layer of foam used, the Double Density foam. Goggles that use 3 layers of foam are offered by brands such as Aphex and Cairn.
  • If you wear glasses and you want the goggles to fit over your own glasses then you should look for the OTG (Over The Glasses) label. These OTG ski goggles are specially made so that you can wear your own glasses under your ski goggles.

Lastly, it is very important that your helmet fits well as the chances are high that your goggles will also not sit comfortably when the helmet itself has not the right size or shape. So take a good look at the layers of foam used with the goggles and make sure the goggles match your helmet.
