What kind of lenses are there?
Lenses
As you probably can imagine, there is nothing worse than not being able to see properly because you are blinded by the light or your ski goggles are simply not suitable for specific weather conditions. For this reason, choosing the right lense type is extremely important!
There is a variety of different lenses for ski goggles. Some goggles have for example interchangeable individual lenses and others have a lens that adjusts to light and dark weather conditions. Below, we wrote down which lenses are suitable for which weather conditions.

Light conditions and different lenses
To make choosing the right lense type even easier, we will explain to you some of the most important differences in a bit more detail. One main differentiation is made between polarizing and photochromic lense types. A polarizing lens blocks the bright light from reflecting water or snow. With these lenses you will always have a good vision and won’t be blinded by bright light. A photochromic lens changes depending on the intensity of light. This allows you to maintain good vision even though the weather might change rapidly.
Lens Shapes
Moreover, we also distinguish between spherical and cylindric lense types. The spherical lens is curved in four directions (left, right, bottom, top) which provides you with excellent optical vision quality without any distortions. The horizontal and vertical arc ensures that you have a wide field of vision. A cylindric lens, on the other hand, is curved in only two directions (to the left and right). This gives you a Panoramic view of the slopes. In addition, this lens has a more vintage-like appearance than the spherical lens.
Double or single lens?
The third distinction is made between single and double lense types. With a single lens there is a chance of condensation. These lenses are often treated with an anti-fog coating that however still cannot guarantee that condensation will not form. The double lens is perfect when you want to avoid as much condensation as possible when wearing your ski goggles. This lense type has a layer of air between the two lenses that prevents condensation.
Besides the lenses you can have in your ski goggles, it is also important that your ski goggles themselves are comfortable and fit on the ski helmet. Check out our website and complete your look with a nice outfit and ski helmet.
